Born and raised in a Christian home in nearby Powder Springs, Wayne learned the gospel and his need for a savior at an early age. However, it wasn’t until a teenager that he placed his faith in Christ. Then during his senior year at McEachern High School the Lord called him into ministry.

He would continue his education at Southern Polytechnic State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. He would pastor two years bi-vocationally in Georgia before leaving for North Carolina to pursue a theological education. In 2008 he graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with his Masters of Divinity degree focusing on expositional preaching and biblical counseling. He would graduate again from Southeastern in 2013 with the Doctor of Ministry degree.

Wayne pastored in North Carolina for three years and then in God’s timing was led back to Georgia where he began serving as the pastor of Poplar Springs in 2012. In his current role he seeks to faithfully shepherd the church through the faithful preaching of God’s word to declare and delight in the glory of God and gospel of Jesus Christ.

Throughout his ministry Wayne has been joined by his wife, Cathy, also a native of Powder Springs and graduate of McEachern High School. Married since 2003 they are blessed to have four wonderful kids together.
